1 Month Old
Luke turned 1 month old on March 14. I can't believe a month has come and gone--and mom and dad have survived (oh yeah...and Luke too!)!!! Although it feels like all I have done is feed Luke, change 500 diapers (and that's not an exaggeration--Rob made an estimate!), do countless loads of laundry and sleep (or NOT!) it has gone by very fast! I decided that every month I will take a picture of Luke in the chair in his room with the same stuffed animals. This way we can see how much he changes through out the year! I laugh at this, because I feel like I am officially becoming my parents (which is not a bad thing---it's just funny!), who insisted on taking a picture on the front step of their house on the first day of school EVERY YEAR to show how much I changed. I remember being so embarrassed and forced to do this ritual as the years went on...but mom and dad, it was a good idea!
1month old---with his sea turtle
Luke's Great Grandma gave him this Valentine bear because Luke is our little Valentine! As you can see, he is totally over our photo shoot but I love this picture! I will forever be able to look at it and hear the ear piercing scream of my little angel! HAHA!
Luke is 5 1/2 weeks old in this picture and he has finally started enjoying his play mat. He loves to lay on his back and wiggle his arms and kick his legs. Here he is enjoying tummy time with a little snooze.
Our cool little man in his rocker outfit just relaxin in the boppy! Luke is very alert now, and enjoys a lot of interaction. He loves to be talked to, he loves to listen to music, look at his animals on his swing and bouncy chair and loves to go on walks (although he usually falls asleep in his stroller!). He has also enjoyed little shopping trips...Grandma Carlile and I are training him to be a good shopper!!

Luke's First Days
Hi everyone! My mommy has finally found some time to post new pictures of me...and it took her ALL day to finish this one post! But I am totally worth all the hard work...I melt my mommy's heart...and I'm pretty sure I melt my daddy's heart too, but he tries to be tough about it! I am 3 weeks old now, and my mommy wanted you to see all the things we have been doing.
Love, Luke
The first time in my swing
The first time in my crib...you can tell I loved it! I am doing much better now (sometimes!!).
My first bath...it was going so well...and then....
Mommy loves this picture...it might be her favorite one of me so far!
My first visit with Grandma Sessler
My first time on my play mat...I'm not a fan of my play mat yet!
My first visit with my cousin Khloe. Khloe is 5 months old...I am 2 weeks old in this picture. I am soooo little!
My first visit AT Grandma and Grandpa Carlile's house! It was my first "outting."
Relaxin with daddy...probably watching hockey!

Luke was delivered at St. Joseph hospital in Orange. Both sets of grandparents made it to the hospital for the special occasion (when it looked like things were progressing pretty fast, we were a little nervous Grandma and Grandpa S. wouldn't make it in time all the way from La Quinta---little did we know they pretty much had ALL day to get to the hospital!!).
Grandparents anxiously awaiting Lukes arrival
Soon to be (or so we thought) Mom (AFTER my epidural) and dad. I started pushing a little before noon---and our L&D nurse was hoping Luke would be born on 2/14 at 2:14pm.
After pushing for 2 1/2 hours (no pictures necessary of that!!) Luke decided he wasn't going to come out that way! I ended up having a c-section and Luke was born at 3:03 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 9 ozs and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Daddy, Mommy and baby Luke
Leaving the hospital as a family of 3!!
Luke's first trip in his car seat...he slept all the way home!
I will never forget the feeling of taking Luke home for the first time! Even now, 2 weeks later, I find myself thinking "he's really ours to keep!"
