Skipping right ahead...

Is it July already??! Has it really been 3 months since my mommy has updated you on whats going on at my house??!!! Man...I must keep her really busy! I am 5 months old now! Mommy can't believe it! I am such a good boy. I laugh and smile all the time. I giggle and "talk." I really like to sleep (if you want to see me cranky, just skip one of my naps...then youre in trouble!), and I am "busy" all the time, playing with my toys, burp clothes...pretty much anything you put in front of me! My mommy thought she would skip pictures from May...and go right to June so she can catch up a little faster! Heres what I did in June...

I helped mommy fold clothes...because I make her do A LOT of laundry! I came inside after playing in the pool and relaxed with daddy. Me and my daddy are watching something good on tv in this picture!
I went to Angels games! I'm a true Angels fan!!!
I celebrated my daddy's first Father's Day. I surprised my daddy by wearing a shirt that says "Rad like Dad!"

And...I turned 4 months old!!!! My mommy had a hard time taking my picture this month because I was VERY interested in my sea turtle! I wanted it in my mouth!

April...by Luke Andrew Sessler

Hi everybody! My mommy has not had a lot of time to update our blog...she has been having too much fun with me!! Here is a little look at what we did in April...

The L.A. Kings were in the playoffs...my mommy and daddy went to a game all by themselves when I stayed home with grandma and grandpa! But don't worry...I watched plenty of hockey at home with my daddy! I am wearing my "Daddy's Number 1 Draft Pick" shirt and rooting for the Kings! Daddy got a new hockey stick...it's a little big for me still...but I know that someday my daddy's going to get one that's just my size...and I'm going to become a star hockey player!!
I finally got to meet my best buddy Caleb and Auntie Christy! Caleb's mommy and my mommy are best friends...so we were born to be best buddies! We went to the park to try and take pictures together...it went well after we both fussed, were fed and had our diapers changed! Mommy and Auntie's outings will never be the same again!!! Caleb and I had fun "playing" together! Watch out world...we are gonna be a couple of cool dudes!Caleb turned 1...and I slept through the whole party!
I had my first bubble bath in the big tub...and loved it!I went to my first Angels baseball game with my mommy, daddy and grandma and grandpa! They tell me I'm going to go to a lot of baseball games! The Angels aren't doing so well this year...but that's okay...I have the most fun looking at all the lights and the people anyways!
And...I turned 2 months old!!! Compare this picture to my 1 month old picture (in the post below) and see how much I've grown! They can't say I'm scrawny anymore! I'm a big boy! That was my April! I can't wait to tell you what I did in May! I will give you a little hint...I LOVE to smile...at anyone or anything! I am trying to giggle now and I am attempting to roll over (MAN...is that hard!!), I love to "talk" and tell everyone about the things I see and about my day, and I have found that I have hands! Who knew???!!!!
I love you!!

Luke's First Trip to the Beach

It was a nice weekend and Rob and I decided to brave a trip to the beach with our little man...one of our very first outings! We took Subway sandwiches down to Laguna and had a picnic on the sand while Luke slept under the umbrella. Luke LOVED the beach, and I told Rob all Luke really wants is a beach house (but in Hawaii!)!
I felt like we took half the house with us for just a few hour trip...ahhh, the joys of "traveling" with a baby! We did learn that it is great to have the stroller to carry everything on! And yes...don't worry, Luke is in there (somewhere!).Little Man...sleeping to the sound of the crashing waves in his stroller.Luke and Daddy...in front of the Hotel Laguna where we got married! Daddy is teaching Luke all about the ocean...

Luke LOVED laying on his sea turtle towel under the umbrella. He was kicking and looking around at all the new sounds.

It was a successful trip and gave us the courage to do more fun family outings!

1 Month Old

Luke turned 1 month old on March 14. I can't believe a month has come and gone--and mom and dad have survived (oh yeah...and Luke too!)!!! Although it feels like all I have done is feed Luke, change 500 diapers (and that's not an exaggeration--Rob made an estimate!), do countless loads of laundry and sleep (or NOT!) it has gone by very fast! I decided that every month I will take a picture of Luke in the chair in his room with the same stuffed animals. This way we can see how much he changes through out the year! I laugh at this, because I feel like I am officially becoming my parents (which is not a bad thing---it's just funny!), who insisted on taking a picture on the front step of their house on the first day of school EVERY YEAR to show how much I changed. I remember being so embarrassed and forced to do this ritual as the years went on...but mom and dad, it was a good idea!

1month old---with his sea turtleLuke's Great Grandma gave him this Valentine bear because Luke is our little Valentine! As you can see, he is totally over our photo shoot but I love this picture! I will forever be able to look at it and hear the ear piercing scream of my little angel! HAHA!Luke is 5 1/2 weeks old in this picture and he has finally started enjoying his play mat. He loves to lay on his back and wiggle his arms and kick his legs. Here he is enjoying tummy time with a little snooze. Our cool little man in his rocker outfit just relaxin in the boppy! Luke is very alert now, and enjoys a lot of interaction. He loves to be talked to, he loves to listen to music, look at his animals on his swing and bouncy chair and loves to go on walks (although he usually falls asleep in his stroller!). He has also enjoyed little shopping trips...Grandma Carlile and I are training him to be a good shopper!!

Luke's First Days

Hi everyone! My mommy has finally found some time to post new pictures of me...and it took her ALL day to finish this one post! But I am totally worth all the hard work...I melt my mommy's heart...and I'm pretty sure I melt my daddy's heart too, but he tries to be tough about it! I am 3 weeks old now, and my mommy wanted you to see all the things we have been doing.
Love, Luke The first time in my swing The first time in my crib...you can tell I loved it! I am doing much better now (sometimes!!).

My first bath...it was going so well...and then....

Mommy loves this picture...it might be her favorite one of me so far!

My first visit with Grandma SesslerMy first time on my play mat...I'm not a fan of my play mat yet!

My first visit with my cousin Khloe. Khloe is 5 months old...I am 2 weeks old in this picture. I am soooo little! My first visit AT Grandma and Grandpa Carlile's house! It was my first "outting."
Relaxin with daddy...probably watching hockey!

Luke was delivered at St. Joseph hospital in Orange. Both sets of grandparents made it to the hospital for the special occasion (when it looked like things were progressing pretty fast, we were a little nervous Grandma and Grandpa S. wouldn't make it in time all the way from La Quinta---little did we know they pretty much had ALL day to get to the hospital!!).

Grandparents anxiously awaiting Lukes arrival Soon to be (or so we thought) Mom (AFTER my epidural) and dad. I started pushing a little before noon---and our L&D nurse was hoping Luke would be born on 2/14 at 2:14pm.After pushing for 2 1/2 hours (no pictures necessary of that!!) Luke decided he wasn't going to come out that way! I ended up having a c-section and Luke was born at 3:03 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 9 ozs and was 20 1/2 inches long. Daddy, Mommy and baby Luke Leaving the hospital as a family of 3!! Luke's first trip in his car seat...he slept all the way home!

I will never forget the feeling of taking Luke home for the first time! Even now, 2 weeks later, I find myself thinking "he's really ours to keep!"

Welcome to the world Luke!

Luke Andrew Sessler is finally here...and we are so much in love! Luke was born on February 14...our little Valentines Day surprise! Mommy woke up at 2am with contractions (but nothing that different than what I'd had all along!). I thought they would stop, but instead they progressively got worse and around 4am I was pretty sure my water started leaking. Rob heard me up get up around that time and asked if I was okay and I told him "ummm...I'm not so sure...I think we might be going to the hospital." Rob's response in his very sleepy voice..."okay, just wake me up when you want to go and I'll be ready in 1 minute!" I LOVE it...and will never forget his response. So, I waited until about 6am to wake him up and say lets go...and we left around 6:30. When the nurse checked me at the hospital I was already 6-7 cm dilated which was a complete and total shock since I had been having contractions for 9 weeks and only dilated to 1 cm!!!! I had to wait WAY too long for my epidural...but oh how much better it felt after I got it! Rob and our parents enjoyed telling me how strong my contractions were by keeping a close eye on the monitor...I really didn't want to know! HAHA! I quickly dilated to 8 and then to 10 and pushed for 2 1/2 hours before having to have a c-section because our little guy just wasn't going to come out! It was a very long day for all of us!
We remained in the hospital until Wednesday with daddy right by our side the whole time. Rob changed every diaper and cleaned up every spit up those first few days, and I feel in love with him all over again seeing him be a daddy to Luke. He has continued to be great at home, taking care of Luke and I, as well as running all the errands and doing a lot of things around the house since I can't do a lot of things because of having a c-section. I couldn't ask for a better husband or daddy!
I will post pictures soon...but for now, I have to go feed our little guy!

HOLY BABY BUMP!!!

38 weeks...
I was definitely not feeling like taking these pictures...the past few weeks have been tough. But that's what these baby bump pictures are about, right? To document the "oh look how cute it is..." to the "ugghhh...can I possibly be any bigger!?" So...I sacrificed for the sake of memories and all I have to say is "HOLY BABY BUMP!!!"

Our "Mini Photo Shoot"

I realized that Rob and I didn't really have many pictures of us TOGETHER while we've been pregnant. We of course have all our Kauai pictures, but although I felt like I had a baby bump then...I look back and that was nothing!!! Now I have a baby mountain! So this weekend, we "dragged" my mom out with us to take some pictures. My mom took the pictures we used as engagement pictures too, so now my mom's business card can read "Engagement and Maternity Pictures!" HAHA! I'm glad we did this...and got it in before Luke comes!!!
Here are just some of the pictures we took.
